Ohio State is in the process of revising websites and program materials to accurately reflect compliance with the law. While this work occurs, language referencing protected class status or other activities prohibited by Ohio Senate Bill 1 may still appear in some places. However, all programs and activities are being administered in compliance with federal and state law.

Currently, my research focuses on the evaluation of brain and spinal cord distribution, axonal transport, and cellular specificity of different serotypes of adeno-associated viral vectors (AAV) after brain parenchymal and cerebrospinal fluid delivery.

My interests also include the characterization of new capsid-engineered vectors, the deep understanding of the immunological consequences after AAV delivery into the central nervous system, and the development of AAV-based therapeutic platforms for neurological diseases.
